Please, anyone who want to get a JRT, think before you get one. They are really jack rascal terrors if you don't know how to train and handle them. They are intelligent dogs and can be real cute. But there are other things that need to be taken into consideration before deciding if you want to live with one. Here's a link to Jack Russell Terrier Club of America that can be used as a reference to see if a JRT is suitable for you.

Dog Run at West Coast Park
Yup, yup. First time I brought McMug to the dog run area at West Coast Park. My collegue agreed to pick me and McMug up in the morning and we went to the park with her and her friend's dog, Prince, a black coat Cavalier King Charle's Spaniel (why is it her friend's dog and not hers? well she doesn't own one and she loves this dog a lot. Duh! hahaha...)
Anyway, initially I placed McMug in the new dog carrier that I bought for him but soon he saw Prince who is outside, he started whining and since my collegue doesn't mind McMug fur in her car, I let him out.
Then as all JRTs, he can't sit still and began "exploring" inside the car. I had to stopped him from jumping onto the back of back passenger seats.
First time at the dog run, McMug was not very used to it. Sniff a few dogs, and then followed me around. But with his PR skills and out going personality he start playing with other dogs soon enough.
As it's my first time there too, I didn't know people bring their dogs' toys there for them to play as well. So I didn't bring McMug's ball. And when there's this dog owner playing fetch with his dogs, McMug was running behind the dogs to go for the toy as well. At first I just let him go, but I'm really not sure how the people there "interacts" and whether they are OK when other dogs joined in the "game". So in the end I carried McMug away, hopefully the dog owner is not too pissed off by McMug intrusion into their game.
All in all, the dogs there are all very friendly, at least we didn't experience any dog fights there. My collegue told me that there was once when she brought Prince there, there was this very agressive dog that started to fight with other dogs. A dog owner couldn't stand it and longer and grab that fierce dog back to it's owner and told the owner" Discipline your dog!" Wow! As a dog owner the minimum we can do is to ensure our dog and other people and dogs safety isn't it?
After about an hour or so we head back for home. Nice experience for me and McMug. Good way to start the morning too. Hee hee.
(Higher chance to get a taxi ride if the dog is kept in the carrier during the journey. I want my own car... *sob sob*)

Question.
Does dogs with flatter nose pant louder?
Why this question? well, McMug had been playing run and chase with Didi (Shih Tzu) nearly every weekday night. And after running and chasing, both of them will pant. But Didi to the extent that I'm afraid he will die of heart attack soon. A bit exaggerating, but he really pants very loudly and rapidly. So I wonder. Anyone has the answer?
