I know that in my last entry I mentioned that this entry I'm going to introduce some of McMug's doggie friends, but before I do that, I think some people will be interested in the following article. Why Dogs Eat Grass? Remember I post this question some time ago? Well, here's the answer. Hee hee...

McMug's Friends I
Hi, hi. Today I would like to introduce some of McMug's human friends. McMug is quite a well known dog among some of the neighbourhood kids, and some of them are muslim children. Yup, that's right, although they can't touch him, but they still like him and call his name when they saw him.
And how do these kids get to know McMug? Well, because one of McMug's earliest human friends is the neighbour's (our muslim neighbour who leave next door)son. And this boy, whenever his friends come to visit, will introduce McMug to them. And suddenly one day, we saw a few kids outside the door, giving command to McMug to "sit". Hee hee, soooooo cute.
And so, when we take McMug for a walk in the evening, we'll usually see these kids playing at the play ground with their other groups of friends. By words of mouth, McMug was known to many of the kids here. And they will go "MugMug, MugMug"
Kids are so cute. Some of them are afraid of dogs initially(well, I won't blame them, since I see many parents telling their children,"Don't go near the dog or it'll bite you.") but after seeing how friendly McMug is they eventually liked him. (Ya, I know it seems like I'm bragging about my dog, but I just can't help it. Hee hee) I don't mean all of them will play with McMug, but some will stand at a close distance to watch him.
Whatever it is, it's through McMug that my dad and I made some new friends, young and old; male and female and people of difference enthic group.
Not to forget, some of McMug's friends are dog owners. For that, I will talk about these dog owners and their gorgeous dogs in my next entry. Byeee....

Artic Dogs in Singapore?
Recently in Singapore a Alaskan Malamute had died of heat stroke due to negligence of the owner and a Siberian Husky with serious skin condition was abandoned by its owner. Both cases raise an uproar among dog lovers. The question of whether to ban import of Artic dogs into Singapore was also in debate.
Both group of people, those who are for the ban, and those who are against, had their supporting points. Personally, I feel that regardless of which kind of dogs, as long as the owner is irresponsible, any form of abuse or negligence is possible. With responsible Artic dog owners, these dogs can also lead a very nice and comfortable life even in a hot equitorial country like Singapore. For any kind of dogs, there will be certain areas which the owner need to put more effort in.
Let's take McMug (Jack Russell Terrier) for example. His fur is short and doesn't require as much grooming as dogs with long fur like the Maltese(that doesn't mean he doesn't need and grooming). However, JRT is a very active breed and requires lots of exercise and running. If a person is not prepared for this hyperactive dog, please don't bring one home just because you think Milo from The Mask or Wishbone from Wishbone is clever and cute. I remember before I got McMug, I went to a pet shop and found that they have stopped bringing in JRT because a lot of new owners ask to send the dog back because they can't stand the active pooch. At least these people try to find a place for the dog to go. Imagine those who just abandon their dog and let them lead a wandering life on the street.
So henceforth, I ask new dog owners to think very carefully before you decide to get a dog.
(Oh, I just change setting of the "comments". Anyone can post now.)
